How it Started

We bought our first Stafford in 2005 strictly as a family pet, a bitch that our son named Skye (Longdrive Western Rose). We had no intentions of showing her.

In September 2006 we attended the East Anglian SBT fun day, Skye and ourselves really enjoyed the day. People kept saying what a lovely bitch she was and that we should show her, so we took her to some ring craft classes and entered her into her first show East Midlands SBT Open, under Judge Mrs G McDermott in Maiden Bitch, she was placed first.
We then entered some more shows with her where she has been consistently placed at open level.

At this point, (May 2007) we registered with the Kennel Club and received their approval for our affix ‘WellsStaffs’.

In 2007 we bought another Stafford this time a dog, Buddy (Longdrive Positive Action) who we started to show in February of this year. Buddy has been consistently placed at open and championship level and qualified for Crufts 2009 after being placed Best Puppy Dog at Bath championship show under Judge Mr E W Darby.

In May 2008 we signed up with the Kennel Club to become accredited breeders and after much consideration we decided to breed with Skye using Tag (Alport Hurricane) as we believe they complement one another well.

We look forward to the future of WellsStaffs.
